This is Yoda speaking to Obi-Wan about Luke and whether the young man should be trained to become a Jedi. I like to think of this as yet another piece of infinite wisdom from Yoda.
With another year behind us and a new one approaching, I figured we could all use a bit of Yodaism this time of year.
So for the new year, I wish everyone to cherish the present and everything you already have. Do not look into the future for happiness or peace but in the now. Do not concentrate on the finger pointing towards the horizon or you will miss all the heavenly glory currently around you (oh wait, that’s Bruce Lee).
Do not look to the past for it cannot be undone…Do not look to the future for we do not know what it holds..but rather, live in the present for it is a gift we all are lucky to have.

p.s. don’t even concern yourself that 2012 is the last year of our existence. that’s all in the future. concentrate on the present so you can become a Jedi like your father before you.
